This 5 week program of Breath and relaxation training could change your life!

One of the often ignored and sadly misunderstood pillars of health is our BREATHING. This is a movement, an action with our body and psyche that happens from the first moments outside the womb, until we take our last breath. This 24/7 dance that our body does while awake and asleep is our most immediate link to life.

For much of my life as a yogini and movement teacher I had this question… “How do I change my breathing to be healthier and more efficient when I’m not consciously thinking about it?” I desperately needed to restore my own central nervous system and I was told many times that breath could be the master key. It wasn’t until I discovered the method designed by DR Konstantin Buteyko and the science behind this practice that I finally began to understand how to heal myself and help others.

Chris Bauman MA, Level 5 Buteyko Educator and Trainer, Founding President of Buteyko Breathing Educators Association, will be joining us to share the origins and scope of this incredible and often life changing breathing method created by Ukranian Dr Konstantin Buteyko.

Chris Bauman is Canada's leading expert in Buteyko, and has a Masters Degree in Education. She will share her own experience of how this method helped her vastly improve her health, as well as the hundreds of clients she has worked with since 1999.

Given that we are currently dealing with a pandemic that affects our respiratory system, Chris will also discuss how Buteyko can be an incredible way to strengthen our immunity as well how to safely and effectively wear a mask for long periods of time. You don't want to miss this!

'Text Neck' or 'Tech Neck' affects all of us, and the health issues associated with the many hours we spend on our devices can create long term harm.  Experts say that poor posture can reduce lung capacity by as much as 30%, and can also be linked to  headaches, neurological issues, depression and heart disease.

In this workshop we will explore ways to increase postural awareness, myofascial stretches for the neck, shoulders and thoracic spine as well as specific ELDOA postures to create more space and improve disc health in these areas.

ELDOA is a therapeutic practice that was created by French Osteopathe Guy Voyer. By learning and practicing ELDOA, you will improve disc health as well as the strength and flexibility of your intrinsic spinal muscles. This practice promotes independence, and you will gain the tools to gradually and safely move away from chronic pain.

Are you interested in finding ways to boost your defence systems (immunity) and feel less vulnerable to a virus in the air, pollutants, pollen or other contaminants around you? Do you suffer from asthma, obstructive sleep apnea, loud snoring, seasonal allergies, or ongoing fatigue? 

Buteyko Breathing is a method that can gradually reverse these symptoms. Marla Waal is a certified teacher.

In this 2 hr workshop you will learn the nuts and bolts of this practice and why it works. We will explore the science of respiration as well as how our breathing is a reflection of nearly every aspect of our lives.
